Kommunales Kino Freiburg

Koki Freiburg has been a place for film, art, and community since 1972 – and will soon be joining Cineville, too.

Using film to make different perspectives visible and strengthen a sense of community, Koki showcases the diversity of international film history alongside innovative contemporary films from around the world, presented in their original language.

Through exhibitions, symposia, readings, lectures, panel discussions, music, and performances, the cinema also engages with current debates around art, politics, and society. Its gallery provides a multimedia space for experimentation, bringing together and showcasing a wide range of artistic disciplines.

The Koki Freiburg is a member of the Bundesverband kommunale Filmarbeit e.V. (The German Association of Municipal Cinemas).
