Biker Ray (Alexander ‘Eric Northman’ Skarsgård) races through the night on rain-soaked roads in a skin-tight black-and-white motorbike suit. Curly-haired Colin (Harry Melling), wearing a straw hat and braces, sings Christmas carols in the pub with his a cappella barbershop quartet. After the performance, he glances over at the leather-clad lads playing darts in a corner of the pub, a group that includes Ray. It’s the beginning of a love story between an unlikely pair: on the one hand, there’s the taciturn Ray, who speaks to Colin almost exclusively in commands. On the other is Colin, who lives with his parents, idolises Ray unreservedly and throws himself enthusiastically into the adventure of submission. But Ray isn’t just erotically dominant; he actually has a problem with intimacy – and Colin must learn to articulate his own needs.
