Rex

The Rex Filmtheater in the heart of Wuppertal was originally a hotel – and the first film was screened here as early as 1889.

The building has an extraordinary history. After numerous renovations and its reconstruction following World War II, the Rex has become a stylish arthouse cinema with more than 130 years of film heritage.

Today, the cinema focuses on arthouse films, European cinema, and carefully selected film highlights. With its historic atmosphere, comfortable seating, a wide selection of drinks, and a genuine passion for cinema, the Rex offers a truly special movie-going experience in the heart of Wuppertal.
