The newly renovated Metropol is Düsseldorf's oldest operating cinema.

Since opening in 1940, the neighborhood cinema in Bilk has been rebuilt twice and has undergone several transformations – from an 800-seat auditorium to an arthouse cinema popular with students, and finally into a stylish, state-of-the-art first-run cinema with two screening rooms. Its most recent renovation was completed in 2023, with screening rooms 3 and 4 currently in development.
