Since 1974, CITY 46 has been a place for dialogue and exchange about film culture. As a municipal cinema, it sees itself not only as a venue for film screenings, but also as a space for encounters, discussion, and cinematic discoveries.
The program features films from around the world in their original language with subtitles, as well as numerous special events with guest speakers and filmmakers. CITY 46 is a member of the Bundesverband kommunale Filmarbeit e.V. (The German Association of Municipal Cinemas).
