Apollo Cinema is an award-winning arthouse cinema located in Aachen’s lively Pontviertel district. With around 150 first-run films each year, its carefully curated program focuses on outstanding international and German arthouse cinema, with an increasing number of screenings presented in their original language with subtitles.
In addition to its regular program, Apollo hosts a variety of special events, including its popular Sunday evening sneak preview (always in the original version with subtitles), the "From Literature to Film" series in cooperation with the RWTH Aachen Institute of German Literary Studies, and the monthly "Classic Gems" screenings.
Since 2025, Apollo has also been the home of the newly established Aachen Film Festival. Visitors can also enjoy a well-stocked bar, making the cinema a welcoming place to experience great films.
